Hello my DA pals!
Once again I've let a long time pass between journals and I apologize.
Can't believe how fast this summer zipped by.
I'm not ready for the cooler temps yet, but I do love the changing colors.
I finished my Frankenstein Bust and put some small improvements to it since I
posted the picture of it. I'll be moulding and casting it. The first casting goes to my buddy Dom over
in Ireland. Maybe I need to hand deliver it? Get it? Randy Hand? Hand deliver?...damn I'm funny.
We've been getting regular visitors in our back yard. Raccoons, skunks, hawks, squirrels, ducks, blue jays, finches, etc. etc.
I decided I shouldn't be allowing squirrels to take walnuts from my hands any more...now I just set the nuts down and let them pick for
themselves. I've gotten scratched a few times by over zealous squirrels, but not bitten yet. Don't want to take that chance any more.
Our chickens are doing great. We were getting 3 eggs a day but they've slowed down a bit with the shorter days. We're thinking of
getting 3 more chickens this spring. They've been a source of entertainment all summer.
Just had to change the channel from an awful thing that was on TV.
Joel Osteen had just come on. I can't believe the size of the audience on his morning church show.
A friend of my wife's said that she attended one of his 'services' in Denver at the Pepsi Center.
She said they were passing 5 gal. buckets down the aisles that were crammed full of money.
P.T. Barnum was right.
I may just start my own mega-church. I'll call it the Church of the Holy Talk To The Hand.
Getting prepared for a good commission at the end of the year.
It's going to consist of realistic Alaskan wildlife.
The client needs to figure out the scale, but the subject matter will be a moose, a deer, a bear with a salmon in it's mouth, a bald eagle, and a seal.
It's going to be a challenge to not take it to the cartoon level, but I'll resist.
I've been doing patinas on bronzes for people too.
I can make good money so I thought since I have all the equipment and the studio to do it, why not?
It's nice to have something to keep me out of trouble between commissions.
Well, I'd better be a little productive and get this day going.
Thanks for all the new watches, faves, llama badges, and messages!
All my best to you,
Take care,
Randy
