stainless steel gargoyle

Yet another piece I found in my studio...
It's amazing what you can find when you clean and organize things...
I did this back when I worked at the foundry.

I had this piece cast in both bronze and stainless as well.
The bronze versions are actually cooler cuz I got to put all sorts of fun patinas on them...kind of aged them etc...
One of the people that bought a bronze one, made it in to an actual working gargoyle water spout. He said it's pretty cool to see in action...
I taped a Discovery special on Gargoyles and Grotesques and kept freeze framing and sketching the images. This is a stylized version of one of those images. I kind of streamlined it and put more facets in to it. Kind of has a hood ornament quality to it when it's done in stainless.
It measures 9 inches deep, 6 inches wide, and 8 inches tall....
How can you not love the gargoyles and grotesques of the world?
