Thank you so very much! It's always such an honor to have a piece chosen for Spectrum. I really had a blast with this piece. Now to get it completely finished all the way around and to mold it. Thanks again! Take care
Thanks so much! There's actually a few DA pals here that have gotten in to Spectrum. Tim Baker Mark Newman John Cebelloro Wade Furlong I might be missing some. Mark Newman got the Gold Award for the dimensional category with his Eel Walker piece. He's also been in there before that for a couple other pieces. (demon dude and frankenstein) Those Spectrum books are such a blast to look through. All my best to you, Take care
Thanks so much! No, I didn't even place in the top 25. I was bummed but I ended up entering it in the Spectrum 20 coming out this fall and it made it in there. It measures 11 inches high, 12 inches wide, and 13 inches long. Thanks again! Take care
This is totally excellent. An awesome job. So much work! I did find you through Forest Roger's page. I think Deviant art doesn't even understand 3D art at all. I didn't even like the ones they did pick. Yikes, I'll get myself in trouble here! Great job and good luck with Spectrum.
I really appreciate your kind words a support! I had a blast with this piece. Of all the entries, I felt Forest Rogers was the best, and for it not to even be considered was a joke. You could tell they weren't even considering 3D work at all. I didn't like all the ones they picked either. Especially that really simple loose painting. The ones that won, were pretty good, but not worthy of top honors. The judges just didn't have a real eye for quality work. They should have let the real judges (Guiermo Del Torro and the other two) judge everything. It really wouldn't have taken them that much longer. Thanks for the well wishes for Spectrum! Got my fingers and toes crossed for this upcoming issue. All my best, Take care
Thanks man! Actually it's Deviant Art that I'm miffed with. Didn't even make it in to the top 25. Especially the fact that Forest Rogers piece didn't make it in to the top 25 tells me that they weren't even considering 3D work. I'll find out in April if it makes it in to Spectrum or not. Got my fingers crossed!
