Nighty night by RandyHand Nighty night by RandyHand
So I decided to throw my hat in the ring for the MAMA Scared Stiff contest.
I started this on Thursday, finished sculpting it by Saturday and then colored and photographed it today.
For me it was a speed sculpt.
I've been wanting to do a 'monsters under the bed' sculpture for quite a few years now and this contest got me motivated to finally do it. I was in the middle of sculpting some other pieces and wasn't sure if I could do it in time but it came together quickly for me.

Hope you all like it!

Amazing. I also like the colors of this one. Everything is grey-ish except for the boys face. Excellent work! :)

Thank you so very much...and for faving it as well!
Glad you like the colors as much as I do. I felt like it gave the monsters under and around the bed
a spookier feel by keeping them grey and dead-like. :)
Thanks again for your kind words!
Take care

Quick, kid! Use the blanket-over-the-head maneuver!

Very nice. A creepy-lovely rendition of the childhood fear of the things that go bump in the night.

I like how the monsters are out of view of the boy in bed.

We might be looking at a few creepy monsters surrounding him, but his fear is amplified by the unknown. He is completely aware about the boogeymen around him, but his mind is making them more terrifying.

Or maybe I'm looking to deep into this...

Ha haha...no you are not looking too deep in to it.
That's exactly how I wanted it to appear so thank you for picking up on that.
Thanks so much for your message!

I laughed when I saw the title of this one and it took me straight back to my childhood.  I was never sure what was hiding under the bed but now I know!  This is so very well captured and looks amazing!  Congratulations on your well-earned DD!

I'm with you...I hated wondering what was lurking under my bed as a child.
I would run in to bed a leap 5 feet before the bed to escape the monsters reach.:)
Thanks again for your kind words and support!

It sort of reminds me of the Labrynth and the movie with Ben Savage about the monsters under the bed with Howie Mandell I believe. You have great skill!

Oh wow! This looks almost like a still from "ParaNorman" or something. I like the way you sculpt. Retaining textures while still keeping things very stylized and clean looking. Well done!
