Here's my latest reason for shutting out the outside world for a short while. Tomorrow (11/17) at 1 pm I present this piece to the art committee of Littleton, CO. They have $20,000 in their budget that needs to be spent before the end of the year on a sculpture for a park there. The only reason I'm telling the price on this is because it will be public knowledge, otherwise I don't like to say how much I get for my pieces... This piece would be bronze and approx. 4 feet long and 3 feet high at the head. I tried to keep it from getting too "Heimlich" like...If you image google Heimlich you'll see that the major similarity is the color. The body type and face are a lot different I think.
The reason I did a caterpillar with shoes is to pay homage to the family that donated the land to the city to build this park. The La Rocca's are an Italian family that repaired shoes for many years . The story of them can be found at [link] I don't know what to call it yet..." A Cobblers Dream", A Cobblers Nightmare" ...etc. etc.. Anyways, I'm still putting together the packets for the presentation so any good vibes my way would be extremely appreciated. Hope you all like it.
Ps. This piece is approx 7 inches long and 3 inches high.. It was made out of Super Sculpey
Hey Randy, I just saw this piece on another website. It's a bunch of funny/random "photo 'o the day" kind of thing. I recognized it was your right away and thought you might get a kick out of the notoriety. You're officially a meme dude!

Thanks for letting me know Joel... That was a funky little site. Hope you've been doing great my friend! Best to you for the upcoming holidays! Take care, Randy
funky is a good word for that site. It's my lunchtime diversion lately so I was surprised when your stuff popped up. I've been doing pretty good. Kind of stuck at the molding stage with a few pieces but dabbling with my new airbrush to pass the time, so that's been fun.
Thanks for the holiday wishes and happy holidays to you as well.
Always great to hear from you!
Take care
